Inquests: A friend in times of need

At times like this we need someone to depend on who is caring and supportive, but endlessly practical and resourceful.

MPH Solicitors provide a shoulder to lean on, as well as specialist expertise. We have a vast amount of experience in preparing for and appearing at inquests into a wide range of incidents, including major transport disasters, road traffic crashes, asbestos-related deaths, deaths in hospital including MRSA and military aviation crashes. We have appeared before Coroners up and down the country and are familiar with the Coroners Rules, possible verdicts, the issue of witnesses, disclosure of documents and press interest.

If you’re concerned about the cost involved, you may be entitled to exceptional funding from the LSC. If not, we can talk about taking your case on pro bono, as we carry out a lot of pro bono inquest work and have strong relationships with Barristers who also act on the same basis.

Because we take a highly ethical stance in all our work, we are opposed to "secret inquests" and have campaigned against them.  We have links to an All-Party Parliamentary Group on MoD inquests and are monitoring the progress of the Coroners Bill.

Our experience includes inquests into:

  • The death of Matty Hull by A10 (friendly fire)
  • The crash of a Sea Knight US Helicopter killing 8 soldiers
  • The death of Sergeant Steve Roberts (lack of enhanced combat armour).
  • The death of Corporal Mark Wright GC in Kajaki.
